Automate a Parameter
Create automation by drawing curves to control parameters over time.
Add an automation track for the parameter you want to automate.
Right‑click lane header → select parameter
Right‑click device control → Automate
Right‑click mixer control → Automate
An automation track appears in the timeline
Double‑click in the automation track to create an automation region.
Double‑click the automation region to open the automation editor.
Draw automation in the editor:
Double‑click to add automation points
Drag points to move them
Drag lines between points to control the curve
Delete points with Delete or Backspace
Select multiple points for group editing and deletion
Use preset shapes for quick automation.
Apply preset shapes for common patterns like fade in/out
Use randomization for variation
Record Automation
Record automation in real-time by moving controls while playback is running.
Start recording by pressing Record in the top bar or F9.
Move the control (knob, slider, button, or fader) you want to automate:
Drag the control to move it
Any parameter can be automated: device parameters, mixer controls, etc.
The automation track and region are created automatically
Stop recording when finished by pressing Space or Return/Enter.
Fine-tune recorded automation:
Double‑click the automation region to open the editor
Adjust points and curves for precision
