NoteSplitter

Essentials

NoteSplitter distributes incoming MIDI notes to up to three different synthesizers or instruments. Create layered sounds, split keyboard ranges, or route different notes to different devices for complex arrangements.

  • Distributes MIDI to up to three outputs

  • Create layered sounds

  • Route notes to different devices

Getting Started

The NoteSplitter allows you to distribute notes to more than one synthesizer, enabling creative layering and routing possibilities.

  1. Add a NoteSplitter device to your project.

  2. Connect up to three synthesizers or instruments to the NoteSplitter outputs.

  3. Create a note track for the NoteSplitter and draw notes to distribute.

  4. Configure velocity settings and mute states for each output as needed.

Controls

Output Configuration

Each output can be individually controlled for velocity and mute state:

Output 1-3

Connect synthesizers or instruments to these outputs

Mute

Mute individual outputs to disable note routing

Velocity Mode

Control how velocity is passed to each output

Practical Tips

Practical Tips

  • Layered Sounds: Use different velocity modes to create layered textures where some outputs play softly while others play at full volume.

  • Dynamic Arrangements: Mute/unmute outputs during playback to create evolving arrangements where different instruments enter and exit.

  • Velocity Sculpting: Use Min velocity mode to create ghost notes or subtle layers that add texture without overwhelming the main sound.

  • Complex Routing: Chain multiple NoteSplitters to create sophisticated routing networks for advanced sound design and arrangement techniques.
