Gravity (Compressor)
Essentials
Gravity is a full-featured compressor with Threshold, Ratio, Knee, Attack, Release, Gain, RMS Window, and Sidechain. Use for tight, punchy mixes or creative sidechain effects. Automatically turns down loud parts when they exceed the threshold.

Compression
Threshold |
Level at which compression begins (-40 to 0 dB) |
|---|---|
Ratio |
Amount of gain reduction above threshold (1:1 to 50:1) |
Knee |
Transition softness around threshold (0-24 dB) |
Attack |
Time to start compressing after threshold (0-1000 ms) |
Release |
Time to stop compressing after falling below threshold. Can be tempo-synced or free-running (0-1000 ms when unsynced, or tempo-quantized when synced) |
RMS Window |
Duration of the detection window for RMS mode (0-30 ms). At 0 ms, compression triggers on the first peak sample |
Sidechain |
External input triggers compression instead of the main input signal |
Output
Gain |
Makeup gain after compression (-24 to +24 dB equivalent) |
|---|---|
On/Off |
Activates or bypasses the compressor effect |
Practical Tips
Practical Tips
Fast attack: control peaks (vocals, snares).
Slow attack: preserve punch in drums.
High ratio: intense compression/limiting.
Sidechain: create movement and mix space in dense arrangements.
